Professional website migration to Google Sites. We rebuild your existing website, preserving your branding and content while moving you to a simpler platform without a recurring Google Sites hosting subscription.
Running a business is expensive enough without paying monthly for a website that simply needs to do its job.
Perhaps you're paying a subscription for Wix, Squarespace or another website builder. Maybe you're using WordPress and finding that hosting, plugins, updates and maintenance are becoming a headache. Or perhaps you're simply wondering whether there's a better, more affordable way to manage your online presence.
There is another option.
SafeSwitch moves your existing website to Google Sites, giving you a professionally rebuilt website with no monthly hosting or subscription fees. It's free. Instead of continuing to rent space on an expensive website platform, you make a one-off investment in having your website professionally recreated.
Google Sites gives you a straightforward way to create, publish and manage a website.
When we rebuild your website on Google Sites, you can benefit from:
No separate hosting subscription
Google Sites does not charge a separate monthly fee to host your website. You won't need to pay for a traditional website hosting package.
Less technical maintenance
You won't need to manage web servers or install software. Google looks after the underlying platform, so no technical tasks to worry about.
Easy website editing
Google Sites has a simple editing interface. You can update text, replace images and content changes without being a techy expert.
Google's hosting infrastructure
Your website is hosted on Google's infrastructure. You don't need to sort or manage a separate web hosting to publish your website.
Your business, your branding
We rebuild your website using your branding, colours, content and images. You'll get a professional-looking website that feels familiar, but is simpler to use.
Clearer website costs
Pay a one-off fee for the website rebuild instead of monthly payments. Your domain name, email and any third-party services may still have separate costs.
Whatever platform your website currently uses, we can assess whether moving it to Google Sites is a suitable option.
Moving a website isn't simply a matter of copying and pasting text. Your website represents your business. Its appearance, content, structure and functionality all contribute to how customers perceive you. That's why SafeSwitch approaches every migration as a website reconstruction project.
We work to retain the elements that make your website recognisable, while adapting them to work effectively within Google Sites. Depending on your existing website and the agreed scope of work, this can include:
Recreating your website's visual design and layout.

Transferring your existing text and images.
Recreating suitable forms and interactive elements.

Is Google Sites really free?
Google Sites does not charge a separate monthly fee to create, publish or host your website. You may still need to pay for your domain name, Google Workspace, email and any other services your website uses.
Will my new website look like my existing website?
We'll use your existing website as the starting point for the rebuild. We'll aim to retain its branding, colours, content and overall appearance, while adapting the design to work with Google Sites. Some design details may need to change because the platforms work differently.
Will I lose my existing website content?
Our aim is to retain your important website content, including text and images where they can be reused. We review your existing pages before starting and explain what can be carried across, what needs to be recreated and whether anything cannot be replicated.
Can I keep my existing domain name?
In most cases, yes. Your existing domain name can usually be connected to your new Google Sites website. You will normally keep paying your domain provider's registration fee. We'll discuss the domain setup with you before launch.
What happens to my Google rankings?
Changing website platforms or page addresses can affect how search engines find and rank your pages. We consider your existing page addresses and search visibility during the migration, but no one can guarantee that rankings or traffic will stay the same. Google Sites also has limitations when it comes to setting up traditional page-by-page redirects, so we'll explain any relevant URL changes before work begins.
Can I edit my website myself afterwards?
Yes. Once your new website has been handed over, you can use the Google Sites editor to update text, replace images and make everyday content changes. You won't need to manage traditional website hosting or WordPress plugins.
Do I have to pay SafeSwitch every month?
No. The website migration is a one-off service with an agreed price. You don't pay SafeSwitch a monthly fee just to keep your rebuilt website on Google Sites. Any separate domain, Workspace, email or third-party service costs will still apply.
Can you move any website to Google Sites?
We work with websites from platforms including WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Duda and GoDaddy. However, not every website feature can be recreated on Google Sites. We'll review your website first and explain what can be rebuilt, what may need an alternative and whether Google Sites is suitable for your needs.
How much does a website migration cost?
The cost depends on the size of your website and the work involved. We consider the number of pages, design, content and functionality before providing a quotation. Our pricing is based on a one-off migration fee, and we'll explain what is included before you decide to go ahead.
Will my business email be affected?
Your business email can usually continue working with your existing domain. However, the domain settings used for your email must be preserved when the domain is connected to the new website. We'll discuss the required domain changes before launch so that your email arrangements are taken into account.
Let's see if your website is suitable for Google Sites. You don't need to rebuild your website yourself, learn a new platform or spend hours working out how to migrate your content. Tell us where your website currently lives and we'll take a look. We'll assess your existing website, discuss what can be recreated on Google Sites and provide a clear quotation for the migration.
